Craft Supply Swap

I have decided to host a craft supply swap!

Okay so here are the guidelines:

Date items must be sent by:November 30, 2009
Number of swap partners:1
Description: Craft Supply Swap

I love craft supplies and getting something new always makes for a great day!
For this swap, you will pick three things from the small category, and two thing from the medium category to send to your partner. Please only send like new or unused things. Exceptions include buttons and beads, or anything that can be re-used. (especially older or more unique ones!). Of course things like scissors, hole punches, stamps, etc are considered re-useable items.

Small Category (pick three)
10 assorted buttons
20 assorted beads
1 small container of glitter
1 spool of thread
1 small pack of polymer clay
10 assorted embellishments
2 things of embroidery floss
Pack of sticker sheets
Other items that would fall in this category

Crafting

I am so sorry I have deserted my blog! I have been so busy the past few months that this had to take a back seat to everything. But now I am going to try to do better. I have decided to dedicate my blog to my crafting. So how about we see what I've been up to lately?!

I have been fortunate enough to have a couple of pajama days over the past few weeks. Just to clarify a pajama day for me is a day when I get out of bed and stay in my pajamas all day long. I don't leave the house and get to do what I want. And of course that means I get to craft!

I have really been into up-cycling. I love taking old clothes or "ugly" clothes and turning them into something new and fun.

Here is an example of some ugly clothes...........

And here is what happened to them.............

OMG!

OMG! I forgot to get a Sunday paper today! What in the world was I thinking! You guys are going to have to tell me what I've missed out on! Or maybe you shouldn't that way I won't be so sad about it, or you could tell me so the not knowing won't drive me crazy! I can't believe I forgot. Hopefully all the changes in my life will even out soon so that I can get on a schedule of sorts again! I'm sure that was the problem, not my memory! :)

My 50 cents on couponing

So I am new to couponing but I would like to share what I have learned so far. I would also like to recommend that you leave a comment if you have any helpful information that you would like to share with others.
There are coupons available online, a good source is coupons.com. However you can also get some really great coupons in your Sunday paper. All You Magazine also has lots of good coupons in it!
Here in Central Missouri we don't have the grocery stores that triple coupons, and the stores that double usually only do it up to 50 cents. This means in order to get the really good deals you have to stock up when it's on sale!
You do have to be willing to spend a little bit of time preparing yourself before you go to the store. Looking over your store's sale bill and matching up coupons is a great way to find deals.

Craft Room Progress

So some of you may know I have been working on my craft room. It has been a long process. I have been trying to put together a wonderful place to create and stay on a very small budget. The budget has been the thing that has made this a slow process, but as I get closer to completing my room I have realized how wonderful of a gift this truly is!
The first step was to clean the room out and repaint the walls. They are now a beautiful pressed green glass. I love it!

So far I have found a hutch for free! Yes free! There are some wonderful and generous people out there. I did receive this from a complete stranger. I placed an add on craigslist and he said if you come get it you can have it! :) {of course I would never go to a strangers house by myself, I took the Hubby with me} The hutch was originally a more formal piece of furniture with glass shelves. As it ended up it was missing the glass shelves and one piece of glass for the side. No biggie! I wanted wooden shelves in it anyway and I came up with a creative solution for the side pieces. I took some galvanized steel sheeting that they use to make heating and air conditioning ducts and cut them to size. I then used a hammer and nail and did some tin punching on it. I think it turned out wonderful. I also painted the hutch white and added some vintage glass knobs to it. I love my hutch.

I also found a wonderful set of vintage drawers from a gentleman on craigslist and ag
ain he just wanted to get rid of them! Another loved treasure for me! {this time my Dad was nice enough to go with me} I cleaned them up and replaced the top. I still need to finish painting it but it is already in my craft room. It is a great storage area and has a terrific work surface!

I reclaimed an old desk I had and got rid of the huge computer desk I was using (it took up a ton of space). The old desk is so cute and it was something I had picked up at a yard sale when my daugther was just a toddler (she is now 13).
I have added some shelving to my walls and need 2 more sets. They are the adjustable shelving, this has already come in handy.

My wonderful husband made me a fabulous table and again it needs to be painted but is already a functioning piece. I seem to have gotten impatient and started doing some scrapbooking this weekend!
Friday I had a little bit of time to kill so I went to check out a new thrift shop here in town. I had went all the way through the store and the very last t
hing I looked at ended up being a 12x12 paper holder. It was only $1.99! An unbelievable find! You can imagine my excitement! So for now I will leave you with these wonderful images to intrigue you! :) Happy crafting!
